Little BabyDoll Christine
KINS RUBBER PANTIES Babykins Products 8171 Seafair Dr RICHMOND, British Columbia, Canada V7C 1X3 665-BABY (2229) http://www.babykins.com This company makes baby and adult products that include diapers and waterproof panties ITEM: 11000 to 11005, depending on size: Waterproof Rubber Panties MATERIAL: Natural, medium-weight 16 gauge rubber. One of the thicker ones on the market, feels smoother than most. ELASTICS: Lyycra; fairly wide and tigh RATING: 7. Size choice would be an equal mix of the waist size and the thickness of the diaper(s). you should propably get the largest size that you think will fit. In some cases a 36" waist will be perfectly comfortable with an X-Large MEASUREMENTS: The sides are about 10" at the shortest point from waistband to legband and the crotch is about 11.5" at the narrowest point. SHAPE: Full cut but not as much as the Comco or A. C. Medical, but stretchy NOISE: Some but not much RATING 5 (with 10 being a rustle/crinke fest fantasy). While that is fair to middling for babyishness it may be too much for other purposes LEAKS: As long as the elastics are good, they are negigible. RATING: 9, To be sure, like any, they can be over-wet or worn with too-thin diapers. COLORS: Ivory; RATING: 1 for choice, 9 for period authenticity PRICE: Varies wit size, but still pricey, see size and price chart PAYMENT: PayPal, which is a big plus. THE POSTAGE FEE varies with the size of the order SIZE & PRICE CHART NOTES: The Company name is Babykins; the adult line of products is called "Kins" It appears that the rules for evaluating real ruabber panties can be a bit different than for plastic since the material has some strethiness. However, you may want to keep stretching to a minimum to save on wear and stress. Good quality real rubber panties are fairly pricey, which is why plastic replaced them and as you see, this is still true. Sizing is an issue. You can use 3 sizes with the same waist size If you are a 35 then depending on the thickness of your diapers you can go up to X-Large and the waist and leg elastics will still work. To keep from wearing them out quickly by stretching them, use the largest size that will work. I do not know how AB friendly Babykins is, Jenny told me that these are more incontinent style than baby style but I am told that they are AB friendly and some of the things I see there could only be AB. A. C. Medical recommends them as an alternative if you can't find what you want there. When you first get them, they have that "tire" smell but after a few washings in luke-warm water, much of that goes away and you can make them smell like other things, such as baby lotion, by washing/rinsing them in the scent you want COMMENTS (LOOK & FEEL, ETC): Given the wide range of users of "rubber panties", in this case, real rubber, it is often the case that panties are evaluated on "babyishness". if you were NOT a baby or toddler, but still wore diapers, then you probably wore someethinhg like this at age 5 in 1954 after actual rubber panties had mostly gone out of the baby layette but still dominated the children's market. In late 1954, when I was 9 a little girl moved in next door whose parents still made her take naps at the age of 5 and she still had a wetting problem and wore diapers most of the time. She stayed over with us on afternnons and was a very accommodating little person; in retrospect, too much so. Her name was Debbie and was, in fact, the first Debbie I ever met. Someone told her, or her parents while she was in earshot, that I "liked rubber pants". well if I was on school vacation, she insisted that I take a nap with her and then that I feel her panties. I already knew what caressing or fondling any part of that area did and really did not want to go there so I used a light touch and confined it to the hips and kept that to a minimum, not wanting any trouble. I had also seen her being changed. This was often one of the kinds of panties that was put on her. So this is in the style of children's wear. In DPF several members wrote in the Newsletter that they wore rubber panties over plastic ones. Also,I have recently read that in terms of use of waterproof panties. the following should apply with regard to how many to use: Infant: 3 to 5. Toddler to 4 y/o: 2 to 4 and Over 4: 2 or 3 In terms of look and feel for children's rubber panties, the Kins Rubber panty comes pretty close, which is why I named the image file "debbie.jpg". However, much of your idea of what is right depends on when you were little. So if you need good "rubber panties", in this case, the real material, from 1953 and as far up as 1961, for an overage wetter, consider the Kins Rubber panty: EDIT Update. After a few washings they get that classic "baby rubber sheet" smell that can almost fill a roome and make it into a "rubber nursery". RATING: 9.5 depending on your taste Link to comment
missyD
While I haven't used the babykins rubber panties, ( I really must try them!) everything else I have purchased from this retailer has been excellent. There service is A-1 and they are warm and friendly. Thanks Christine for an amazing review 1 Link to comment
Little BabyDoll Christine
Actually, it is not that amazing; it is quite formulaic. if you look at my other reviews, you will see that it is almost a template. I have seen reviews of panties for over 25 years and when I was or was not satisfied with them, I would pay attention to what was there and what was missing. To define the template, I asked, "What would I want to know?". then when I got a digital camera, I could include pictures. I learned how to do screenshots and manipulate the images and I learned that there was more to a review of things like this than just the physical facts since much of the appeal is esthetic and in some cases historical. Also there was the business aspect so notes and other free-form prose comments would be useful Link to comment
Diapers446
I have a pair of my own and i just love them they are about 8 years old and still work just fine Link to comment
ABRPTS
I do too. They are so soft. My first experience was in a pair of rubber pants in the late 50's oh how I wish I had that pair right now. But at least I have 5 pairs. Signed Adult Baby Rubber Pants. Link to comment
Little BabyDoll Christine
They also smell up the room with the "rubber sheet" smell if you leave them out Link to comment
bobbiesueram
I was raised in cloth diapers and rubber panties. I guess that's why I love love them so much. I have always been a cloth diaper baby all my life. I have used Kins baby diapers and rubber panties they are the best ever. Yes they coast a lot but they are truly worth it. No leaks at no time even a massive wetting they hold it all in you'll love them. Link to comment
Soggy Bottom Boy
I am not a fan of rubber pants. I did purchase a pair several years ago but did not like the feel or the noise. I figured they would outlast plastic pants by a long shot but just couldn't bring myself to get used to them. I grew up in the late 50's & early 60's and my mother used plastic pants on me. I have a few memories of this as I was late to train. I was diapered until I was close to 5 years old. Then at around age 8 or 9 I began to wet the bed which I did 4 to 7 nights a week for several years. My parents put me in cloth diapers and plastic pants which I wore every night until shortly before my 16th birthday when I finally stopped wetting. I was dry until after the accident in 1998 in which I suffered permanent nerve damage that took away control of my bladder function. Now once again I find myself back in diapers and plastic pants. Plastic pants are much quieter and they do not chafe me like rubber pants do plus that is what I grew up with. My wife calls them all "rubber pants" anyway. Link to comment
Little BabyDoll Christine
Most people, including me call them rubber panties. I had both kinds put on me. Look at my review of several different kinds of panties, the link is in my signature Link to comment
